Rochester is beautiful
And I'm not just saying that because I was born and raised here. Anyone who visits acknowledges how special this little town by the river Medway is. The English Heritage castle overlooking the river and Cathedral is from Norman times and buzzes on hot sunny day with local and visitors having picnics on its open ground.

The old cobbled High Street with numerous listed buildings and cute artisan and foodie shops can will entertain you for hours.
Easy transport access
If you're stuck living in London and wonder how on earth you'd make your way down, fear not. There are high speed trains from St Pancras International that only take 38 minutes. There are trains from Victoria, Stratford and London Bridge stations and don't take much longer.

The A2, M2 and M20 are all nearby which means that driving only takes about an hour from London. Same goes for Dover and many other beautiful spots along the Kentish Coast.
