A one-day workshop, held in the lovingly restored Conservancy Board Building (AKA Café Nucleus) on Rochester High Street. You'll learn the principles of linocut printing and experiment with shape, texture and colour.
The morning session begins with sketching peonies from still life and working them into a design, ready to transfer to your linocut tile. (Ready-made designs will also be available for reference) After a light lunch it's time to get to grips with an original 19th century press print and use a technique called chine-collé to add colour to your print.
All materials, printing equipment, refreshments and a studio-based lunch provided by Café Nucleus are included in your ticket price. Suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.
