If you've been hanging around with me for a while then you may know the original idea for iPrintedThat was for children to design and screen print their own t-shirts. That was it, nothing else. Think school holiday workshops, children's parties and running workshops for schools.
One of my first gigs was an after school club. On arrival the teacher sprang it upon me that she wouldn’t be around during the workshop and, as you do when you’re new and trying to impress, I went along with it. I won’t bore you with all the gory details but needless to say the children saw the paint, saw the fear in my eyes and took full advantage of the situation. It still haunts me to this day.
Fast forward nine years and I’m pleased to say that I’ve got school workshops licked! I ran a Lichtenstein screen printing workshop this week and the children’s reactions were priceless. Comments included “this was the best art class ever” and, I kid you not, “I will never forget this day”. Click the button below to see some photos from the day.
